How We Check Be Rwanda Wise’s Answers
Be Rwanda Wise gives legal and tax information about doing business in Rwanda. This page explains where the answers come from, how they are kept up to date, and what they cannot do.
What the answers are based on
Each investor FAQ names the law or official body it relies on and is written from primary sources: the laws portal (amategeko.gov.rw) and the Official Gazette, and the websites of the Rwanda Development Board, the Rwanda Revenue Authority, the Rwanda Social Security Board, the National Bank of Rwanda, the immigration directorate, the Ministry of Justice, KIAC, the Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board and the environment and data protection authorities. The useful links page lists them all.
The monthly check of every FAQ
A scheduled job runs every day and re-checks the FAQs that are due, oldest first, so that every one of the 115 answers is checked against official sources at least once every 25 days. For each question it searches official Rwandan government websites and asks whether the current answer is still supported.
An answer is only changed automatically when all three of these are true:
- the check concludes that an update is needed;
- it quotes wording that actually appears in an official search result; and
- every figure in the new wording already appears in the old answer or in those official results.
Anything else is left unchanged and held for review by the editor. The “last checked” date on a question is only updated when the search actually ran. Changes are listed on the recent changes page.
The topic pages in the app
The seven topic pages in the app (company, tax, employment, disputes, intellectual property, land and mining) are refreshed from official sources at least weekly. If a refresh fails, the last saved version stays in place.
The chat advisor
Chat answers are written by an AI model. Before answering, the advisor searches official Rwandan government websites so that it can check rates, deadlines and law numbers against current sources. AI answers can still be wrong or out of date, so treat them as a starting point and confirm anything important with the relevant authority or a licensed Rwandan advocate.
What these pages are not
Nothing on Be Rwanda Wise is legal advice, and using it does not create an advocate–client relationship. Rates, thresholds and procedures change.
