Privacy and cookies

This notice explains what happens to information when you use bewiseapps.com and the Be Wise apps on it. In short: you do not need an account, we do not keep a copy of your chats on our own servers, and analytics cookies are only used if you accept them.
Who we are
Be Wise Apps, including bewiseapps.com and every Be Wise app on it, is created and run by Jason Edwin Donovan, who is responsible for the personal information described in this notice (the “data controller”).

Information you type into an app
When you send a question to one of the AI assistants, or ask an app to draft or explain something, what you type is sent through our server (a Cloudflare Worker) to our AI provider, Groq, which generates the reply. Some apps also send the text of your question to a web search provider so the answer can be checked against official sources; Be Rwanda Wise uses Brave Search. These providers process the text to produce that one reply. We do not keep a copy of your conversations on our own servers.
Groq and Brave are based in the United States, so your question may be processed outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Please do not include names, contact details, identification numbers or other personal details in a question unless they are needed for the answer. If you choose to describe health symptoms in Be Health Wise, or an injury in Be Injury Wise, that description is sent to the AI provider in the same way to answer your question.
Information kept in your own browser
Some apps save things in your own browser so that they work as you expect, for example Be Health Wise profiles, a business profile or reminders in Be Rwanda Wise, whether you dismissed the “install” banner, and your cookie choice. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can clear all of this at any time through your browser settings.
Finding a solicitor or lawyer
The “Find a solicitor” and “Find a lawyer” features do not collect your details or pass them to anyone. You choose whether to contact a listed firm, and you contact it directly. In Be Injury Wise, any estimate summary you copy stays on your device until you decide to share it yourself.
Analytics cookies
With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and clicks on links such as outbound links and contact links. Google Analytics does not run, and sets no cookies, unless you press “Accept analytics”. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

You can change your choice at any time.
Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers to download them, sharing your IP address as any web request does.
Hosting and security
The site and its servers are hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.
If you email or message us
If you email hello@bewiseapps.com or message us on WhatsApp, we use your message and contact details to reply, and keep them only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry. WhatsApp messages are also handled by WhatsApp under its own terms. If you contact an advertiser listed in an app, what you share with them is a matter between you and that advertiser.
Why we can use your information
- Answering the questions you send and producing what you ask an app to produce: to provide the service you have requested.
- Analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Hosting, security and replying to emails: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working site and answering you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold very little information about visitors, most requests will concern emails you have sent us. To make a request, email hello@bewiseapps.com.
You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, the authority in your country; in Rwanda, the National Cyber Security Authority’s Data Protection and Privacy Office.
Children
The apps are designed for adults and are not aimed at children.

If we change how information is handled, we will update this page and the date at the top.
