Every figure in Be University Wise comes from an official source. This page lists each one, what we use it for and the licence it is published under.

National Student Survey 2026

Published by the Office for Students on 8 July 2026, with provider-level files corrected on 27 August 2026. We use results by teaching provider for full-time first-degree students: the seven themes, overall and for 35 subject areas (the Common Aggregation Hierarchy, level 2).

Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. National Student Survey data.

Discover Uni dataset

Published by HESA (part of Jisc). We use the edition published on 8 September 2026: continuation, Graduate Outcomes (graduates in professional or managerial work, or in further study, 15 months after finishing) and the UCAS Tariff points of past entrants, for full-time degree courses. Figures are credited to the provider that teaches the course.

LEO graduate outcomes, tax year 2023-24

Published by the Department for Education on Explore Education Statistics. We use the provider-level data files published with this release (the underlying data for the LEO provider level dashboard): median earnings five years after graduating, by provider and subject, for providers in England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland providers are not included.

Licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. LEO graduate and postgraduate outcomes. We compare each figure with the UK graduate-weighted average for the same subject.

Price Index of Private Rents

Published monthly by the Office for National Statistics. We use the latest average monthly rents for each area (August 2026 for most areas; June 2026 for Northern Ireland, whose figures are two months behind). These are official statistics in development.

Rules, fees and dates

Visa, fee, student finance and UCAS information comes from GOV.UK, UCAS, the Welsh Government, the Department for the Economy in Northern Ireland and the Student Awards Agency Scotland. Each guide lists its own sources.

Our own classification

The setting of each university (city, campus, smaller city or town, collegiate, coastal) is our own description, not official data.
